ALICE IN WONDERLAND, JR. WILL BE DIRECTED BY ANDREA FIFE

As Gertrude in Seussical the Musical
Andrea Fife performed in her first musical theater production when she was eleven years old and has been performing, directing, and enjoying all things theater ever since.

Draper Arts Council:
In 2002, Jackie Casdorph and Andrea Fife founded the Draper Youth Show Choir under the umbrella of the Draper Arts Council. For three years, the participants in this organization performed a variety production in the fall and a children’s musical in the spring. Andrea acted as Assistant Director and Choreographer for the each of the productions during this time. In 2010, Andrea worked as the Music Director for the youth production: Across America. A clip of Andrea's original arrangement of “Oklahoma” can be seen on Facebook here. (This clip is from a some of the kids after rehearsal outside a frozen yogurt establishment. Judge accordingly.)  Andrea has also worked as Music Director for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and I Wanna Be on Broadway.

Taylorsville Arts Council:
When Andrea Fife auditioned for the 2011 production of Into the Woods, the director was so impressed by her piano skills that she was hired as rehearsal pianist and Assistant Music Director for the production.  She had the opportunity to increase her own skills as she taught the intricate rhythms and melodies of one of Sondheim's masterpieces.

Starlight Mountain Theatre:
A summer stock theater in Garden Valley, Idaho, Starlight Mountain Theatre also offers educational opportunities for youth in the Boise area. For the past two years, Starlight Mountain Theatre has brought Andrea in from Salt Lake to act as the music director for their youth spring break production. In 2009, Andrea was the music director for Alice in Wonderland, Jr. and in 2010, she was the music director for High School Musical 2, Jr. In addition, Andrea was asked to be the music director for their summer shows, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Wizard of Oz, and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Dickens Theatre Company:
When the Dickens Festival made its triumphant return to the Utah State Fairpark in 2011, Andrea was there acting as choreographer for both mini-productions of Oliver! and Scrooge.  For the 2012 season, Andrea was promoted to Director.  For more photos and videos of these productions, visit dickenstheaterco.blogspot.com.

Challenger Schools:
For three years, Andrea Fife worked as the Music Specialist at the Salt Lake campus of the private school system, Challenger Schools. She taught first through sixth grade classes who each performed a 25-minute production at Christmas and the end of the year. She taught all music and choreography for the ten classes. Starting in 3rd grade, her students began to sing harmony, and by 6th grade, some students could sustain three-part harmony.

Navigator Pointe Academy:
Andrea Fife is currently employed as the Music Specialist at the charter school, Navigator Pointe Academy. During the school day, she teaches 1st through 6th grade music.  After school, she is the music director and choreographer for the after school show choir and the choreographer for the after school theater program.  In addition, she oversees the lighting design for all the school's productions.

Empress Theatre:
Andrea Fife worked as co-director, music director, and choreographer for the inaugural EYT production Willy Wonka Jr., and she was excited to direct last summer's production Beauty and the Beast, Jr.  She helped students increase their existing talents and discover confidence and, hopefully, a life-long love of the theatrical arts.    She is thrilled to be back for another year!
